VSP Premier Edge


VSP Premier Edge™ ("Premier Edge") is offered to all VSP® Network Practices, subject to the eligibility requirements outlined below, to assist in maximizing vision care benefits for VSP members, while providing a competitive advantage centered around driving higher-value patient engagement, increasing efficiency, and sustainable growth.

The following terms and conditions apply to all VSP Network Practices taking advantage of Premier Edge. Additional Premier Edge terms and conditions may apply. VSP Vision reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of or discontinue Premier Edge at any time without notice.

ELIGIBILITY

Premier Edge is available to Independent Eye Care Providers with active VSP Network Practices that have not opted out of providing value-added discounts to VSP members on non-covered services and materials , have not indicated that VSP savings and discounts are not guaranteed at their Practice1, are located in the United States, and are in good standing. In addition, Eye Care Providers located in Texas and who opt in to a VSP Network Doctor Agreement on or after January 1, 2024, or who initially join VSP’s Doctor Network on or after January 1, 2024 are not eligible to participate in Premier Edge.

Any VSP Network Provider that is subject to any form of restrictive status participation would not be in good standing and therefore, does not qualify for this program.  Only VSP Network Providers and Practices that are not excluded, debarred, suspended, nor owned or controlled, in whole or in part, by a person that is excluded, debarred, or suspended, from participation in (a) any Federal health care program as defined by 42 U.S.C. §1320a-7b(f), including, but to limited to, Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE, or (b) any State health care program, as defined in 42 U.S.C.  § 1320a-7(h) are eligible for Premier Edge.

FEDERAL, STATE, AND HEALTHCARE PROGRAM EXCLUSIONS

Federal anti-kickback laws provide for criminal and/or civil liability for inducements related to any product for which payment may be made by a Federal healthcare program or federally funded State healthcare programs, including Medicaid and Medicare (collectively, “Federally Funded Programs”). Some states have similar anti-kickback laws and regulations (“State Laws”). Any item or service for which payment is made, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by any Federal health care program or State health care program, or otherwise prohibited by Federal or State laws or regulations, does not qualify for any promotion offered by Premier Edge.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

Premier Edge qualification includes Marchon/Altair Frames purchasing which is calculated on net per location spend over the last twelve months (LTM) and offering three consumer conveniences at all locations3.

  1. Purchasing: Open to all VSP Network Practices with a single location spend of $12,000 LTM on Marchon/Altair Frames. 

    If there are multiple Practice locations, after one Practice location has spent $12,000 LTM on Marchon/Altair Frames, each subsequent Practice location only needs to spend $6,000 LTM per additional location on Marcon/Altair Frames.
     
  2. Retinal Imaging – VSP Network Practices participating in Premier Edge must have retinal imaging in at least one location.
     
  3. Free Fittings & Adjustments on prescription glasses – VSP members receive free fittings and adjustments on prescription glasses or sunglasses purchased at the same location. In case of damage, see manufacturer warranty or VSP Premier Edge™ Promise in the Benefits section below for more details.
     
  4. VSP Exclusive Member Extras – VSP Network Practices participating in Premier Edge must agree to accept all VSP Exclusive Member Extras at their location(s). 

At the end of each calendar month, an assessment is run to determine the spend over the last twelve months. If a practice reaches the required spend, they can qualify for Premier Edge the next calendar month until the next annual check-in. At the annual check-in, each Practice is reviewed against the requirements and maintains or loses Premier Edge benefits. The annual check-in date is December 31.

BENEFITS

Premier Edge benefits include the following:

  1. VSP Premier Edge™ Banner

    Description: One month after qualification, an indicator will automatically display on the practice’s VSP.com Find-a-Doctor directory listing, highlighting locations where members can maximize their benefits (unless prohibited by law).

    Limitations: The Premier Edge Banner is not a designation of care quality; all VSP doctors meet VSP’s professional standards. VSP reserves the right to change or discontinue this benefit at any time without notice.

    Redemption: Automatically added one month after qualification.
     
  2. Website Link on VSP Find-a-Doctor Directory

    Description: Practices may link their website to their VSP.com directory listing, subject to VSP terms and conditions.

    Limitations: As used herein, “Service” refers to the products, information, and services provided through VSP. The Practice Uniform Resource Locator (URL) cannot be used in any manner that may disable, overburden, damage, or impair the Service, or interfere with any other party’s use and enjoyment of the Service by:

    - Uploading or otherwise disseminating any virus, adware, spyware, worms, or other malicious codes; or

    - Interfering with or disrupting any network, equipment, or server connected to or used to provide any of the Service, or violating any regulation, policy, or procedure of any network, equipment, or server.

    By linking the Practice URL on the VSP Find-a-Doctor webpage, the Practice represents, warrants, and agrees that no content posted or otherwise shared by the Practice or through any of the Service violates or infringes upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other personal or proprietary rights, breaches, or conflicts with any obligation, such as a confidentiality obligation, or contains libelous, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful material

    The Practice shall not post or transmit content on or through the Service that is harmful, offensive, obscene, abusive, invasive of privacy, defamatory, hateful, or otherwise discriminatory, false, or misleading, or incites an illegal act. If the Practice promotes or advertises products competitive to any VSP product or Service on their website, the Practice agrees to equally promote VSP and its products and Services to enable VSP members to gain full value of their VSP benefits. VSP has the sole and absolute right and discretion to remove any Practice website without notice.

  3. Premier Edge Member Offers

    Eligibility: VSP members at Premier Edge practices.

    Description: Access to exclusive member Premier Edge Offers as determined by VSP only available at Premier Edge locations. Additional terms and conditions may apply.

    3.1. VSP Premier EdgeTM Promise

    Eligibility: To qualify for the Premier Edge Promise, a VSP member must receive an exam and/or purchase an eligible Featured Frame Brand frame from a Premier Edge practice using their VSP coverage (excludes private pay purchases and Medicaid/state-funded plan members). Eligibility for frame replacement is based on the professional judgment of the Premier Edge Practice. 

    Description: Provides a worry-free eyewear guarantee for eligible Featured Frame Brand frames, covering frame breakage, unexpected prescription changes, or a style change. Not valid for lost or stolen glasses, and excludes non-Featured Frame Brand frames, frame manufacturer warranty (defects), lens enhancement and/or progressive warranties, Unity Guarantee, non-VSP covered services, contact lens services and materials, services covered under Interim Benefits and a lens redo that falls under the VSP First Time Redo policy or VSPOne Patient Satisfaction Warranty. 

    a. Damaged or Broken Glasses

    The Premier Edge Promise replacement frame is available, as needed, for one year from the original date of purchase of an eligible Featured Frame Brand. If the original frame is not available as a replacement, a frame of similar style and cost may be substituted. Reuse the original lenses unless also broken or exact frame is no longer available. Patients are responsible for a $40 processing fee4 if lenses are provided. The Practice must honor the warranty even if their Premier Edge participation status changes during the frame warranty period. 

    b. Unexpected Prescription Change

    The Premier Edge Promise is available for one year from the original date of the exam with a Premier Edge provider and offers one additional WellVision Exam®, as well as replacement spectacle lenses (lenses require a minimum prescription change of +0.50 diopters). Patients are responsible for a $40 processing fee  if lenses are provided.

    Providers must exhaust VSP’s First Time Redo policy, VSPOne Patient Satisfaction Warranty, manufacturer’s Progressive non-adapt/warranty, and/or client’s Interim Benefits first, if applicable. Excludes exam services otherwise covered under Essential Medical Eye Care or VSP Diabetic Eyecare Plus ProgramSM or expected changes in prescription, such as due to laser vision correction or cataract surgery.

    c. Style Change

    The Premier Edge Promise allows for a one-time frame style change within 100 days from the original date of purchase of an eligible Featured Frame Brand frame with a $40 processing fee4. VSP will cover a replacement frame (any brand) of equal or lesser value and replacement lenses, including any lens enhancements on their original pair. Excludes lens only changes (using same frame). 

    Limitations: Availability and eligibility of Featured Frame Brands is subject to change. Members may add any additional non-covered lens enhancements at Choice Lens Enhancement pricing. The Premier Edge Promise is not an insurance plan and is subject to change or cancellation by VSP at any time without notice. 

    Redemption: A $40 processing fee applies for lens replacements. Practices must call VSP for authorization under the Premier Edge Promise. Only request lenses when necessary and use a VSP contract lab for lens replacements; in-office finishing or private lab (Lab 100) is not allowed. Collect and dispose/donate original glasses per office policy: do not return glasses to Marchon or Altair, and do not allow members to keep original glasses.

    3.2. Bausch + Lomb Patient Rebate

    Eligibility: VSP members purchasing eligible Bausch + Lomb contact lenses.

    Description: VSP Members save up to $260 on an annual supply of eligible Bausch + Lomb contact lenses. Offer runs from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.

    a. New wearers: Infuse SVS – up to $260, Biotrue ONEday SVS/Toric/Multifocal - $220, Ultra SVS/Multifocal/Toric Multifocal - $80

    b. Existing wearers: up to Infuse SVS - $150, Biotrue ONEday SVS/Toric/Multifocal - $100, Ultra SVS/Multifocal/Toric Multifocal - $40

    Limitations: New and existing wearer rebate amounts specified.

     4 $40 process fee is paid by the patient to the Premier Edge practice and will be deducted from the provider’s claim payment. Additionally, patient must pay any additional non-covered lens enhancements at Choice Lens Enhancement pricing and/or frame overage, as applicable.  

    3.3. Alcon Patient Rebate

    Eligibility: VSP members purchasing eligible Alcon contact lenses.

    Description: VSP Members save up to $325 on an annual supply of eligible Alcon contact lenses when they purchase from a Premier Edge location. Offer runs from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.

    3.4. ZEISS Satisfaction Guarantee & ZEISS PhotoFusion X Satisfaction Guarantee

    Eligibility: VSP members purchasing ZEISS lenses or enhancements from Premier Edge locations.

    Description: VSP members can try ZEISS SmartLife, DriveSafe, Light lenses, DuraVision coatings, and PhotoFusion lens enhancements risk-free for 12 months. If not satisfied, VSP will refund out-of-pocket expenses (less co-pays) and replace lenses with a comparable lens free of charge.

    Limitations: Members who participate in a Medicaid/state-funded plan are not eligible.

    Redemption: Members can call VSP or alert their VSP network doctor.

    3.5. HOYA Vision Care Satisfaction Guarantee 

    Eligibility: VSP members purchasing Hoya Vision Care lenses or enhancements from Premier Edge locations.

    Description: VSP Members can try Hoya Vision Care lens or enhancement risk-free for 12 months. If not satisfied, VSP will refund out-of-pocket expenses (less co-pays) and replace lenses with a comparable lens free of charge.

    Limitations: Members who participate in a Medicaid/state-funded plan are not eligible.

    Redemption: Members can call VSP or alert their VSP network doctor.

    3.6. 12-Month Unity Promise

    Eligibility: VSP members purchasing Unity single vision or progressive lenses from Premier Edge locations.

    Description: VSP Members can try Unity lenses risk-free for 12 months. If not satisfied, VSP will refund out-of-pocket expenses (less co-pays) and replace lenses with a comparable lens free of charge.

    Limitations: Members who participate in a Medicaid/state-funded plan are not eligible.

    Redemption: Members can call VSP or alert their VSP network doctor.

    3.7. SunSync Lens Satisfaction Guarantee

    Eligibility: VSP members purchasing any SunSync Light-Reactive Lenses from Premier Edge locations.

    Description: VSP Members can try any SunSync Light-Reactive Lenses risk-free for 12 months. If not satisfied, VSP will refund out-of-pocket expenses (less co-pays) and replace lenses with a comparable lens free of charge.

    Limitations: Members who participate in a Medicaid/state-funded plan are not eligible.

    3.8. TechShield Satisfaction Guarantee

    Eligibility: VSP members purchasing any TechShield Anti-Reflective Coating from Premier Edge locations.

    Description: VSP Members can try any TechShield Anti-Reflective Coating risk-free for 12 months. If not satisfied, VSP will refund out-of-pocket expenses (less co-pays) and replace lenses with a comparable lens free of charge.

    Limitations: Members who participate in a Medicaid/state-funded plan are not eligible.

    3.9. Maui Jim Prescription Sunglasses Patient Rebate 

    Eligibility: VSP members spending $200 or more on eligible Maui Jim products at Premier Edge private practice locations between 2/1/25 – 1/31/2026.

    Description: VSP members can earn up to a $50 rebate on qualifying purchases.

    Limitations: Patient-owned frames, redoes, and repairs excluded. Subject to Maui Jim terms and conditions.

    Limitations: Only available for Signature and Choice Plan participants.

    Redemption: Automatically noted on the Explanation of Payment as Additional Frame Payment.
     
  8. VSP Enhanced Individual Vision Plans Doctor Program

    Eligibility: VSP Network Practices advertising VSP Individual Vision Plans on their website. Purchase of an Individual Vision Plan is not required.

    Description: Earn payments for advertising VSP Individual Plans on your website. Receive $8 when a patient clicks on an eligible banner ad or link that redirects to the VSP Direct page. Purchase of an Individual Vision Plan is not required.

    10.1. Altair Eyewear Brand Savings

    10.2. Bausch + Lomb

    Eligibility: Premier Edge practices enrolled in one of the following programs.

    a. Practice Volume Discount Pricing: Enroll in the 360 Program or Inventory Program and receive list price discounts and lock in pricing, per program requirements. 
    b. Practice Growth Program: Earn up to 12% with a new volume rebate payment program.

    Redemption: Quarterly rebate checks are mailed to the enrolled doctors within 45 days of the end of each quarter.
